FOUNDER
Tshering Dorji is a co-founder of Asana Bhutan. He has over 20 years of experience in banking, finance, non-profit, and the arts. He started his career in banking, working his way up to Strategy Manager for Bhutan National Bank, where he developed expertise in auditing, project management and policy development. Later, he worked briefly in the non-profit sector as Program Director for the Bhutan Foundation, focusing on community development. After his work in Bhutan, Tshering gained valuable experience in the non-profit sector working in the mental health sector in Australia, further broadening his understanding and commitment to wellbeing initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Sherubtse College and a post-graduate diploma in Music and Sound from Queensland University of Technology and certifications in mental health and disability.
Alongside his professional work, Tshering is a musician and a composer who has produced several Bhutanese albums, merging his love of music with his cultural heritage. He is deeply interested in travel, contemplative practices, wellbeing, and the arts and uses these interests to inspire and connect with others. With diverse experience, Tshering is committed to creating a positive experience by combining his experience in wellbeing, creativity and the contemplative arts.

Jigme Goenpo Dorji is a distinguished consultant and a travel specialist to Asana Bhutan, bringing over two decades of expertise in the Bhutanese travel industry. As a seasoned travel guide, Jigme has led numerous expeditions throughout Bhutan, sharing his profound knowledge of the kingdom’s history, culture, and natural beauty with travelers from around the world. A passionate birder, Jigme has extensive knowledge of Bhutan’s bird species and has led numerous birding tours throughout the kingdom. His expertise also extends to Bhutan’s rich spiritual traditions, which he shares with travelers through visits to sacred temples, monasteries, and festivals.
Jigme is also an experienced hiking and trekking guide, having led groups through some of Bhutan’s most spectacular landscapes. He is well-versed in Bhutanese music and festivals, and delights in sharing his knowledge of traditional mask dances, folk songs, and instrumentation with travelers. Over the years, he has managed travel programs for some of the most reputable travel companies in Bhutan, honing his skills in crafting bespoke itineraries that showcase the country’s unique heritage.
